Hi there , our fish are actually not trawled, they are netted by small family operations (typically natives) and processed by the Freshwater Fish Company (a crown corporation of Canada), with whom we have an exclusive relationship.
All of our fish are sustainably harvested and are passed as ‘fit for human consumption’ before arriving at our factory fresh, never frozen and with no preservatives. Our fish are fished from lakes that are clean and free of pollution as determined by the Government of Canada.
The lakes from which our Lake Whitefish originate include Lac La Biche, Slave Lake, and Lake Winnipeg – none of which are affected by oil exploration.
